What is available to you when you disagree with your child's school about how your child with special needs is being educated?    There are a number of dispute resolution tools available to you including filing a formal complaint (like a state or due process hearing complaint), mediation, or having a facilitated IEP meeting. 

No matter what tool you decide to use, we recommend that you put your concerns in writing by filing a complaint with the school district and forwarding that complaint to the state's dispute resolution division.
